Beijing time, January 28, global PC and smartphone sales are declining, Lenovo believes that emerging markets will bring growth opportunities for the company. Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing recently attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In an interview with the media, he said: "We see growth opportunities in most emerging markets." China's economy is slowing down, Yang Yuanqing sees growth opportunities in India, the Middle East and Africa, he said: "We are still optimistic about the growth of emerging markets."

In the future, Lenovo will use the Motorola brand to penetrate the US smartphone market. Yang Yuanqing said that the company will launch more innovative and attractive products in the US in July this year. He believes that Apple's market share in the US has peaked, while Android is completely the opposite and still has room for growth. Yang Yuanqing said: "Apple's market share in the US has exceeded 50%. Can you expect more? I don't think so. I think Android will take more market share."

Apple released its first quarter financial report for fiscal year 2016 on Tuesday. The sales growth rate of iPhone hit the lowest level since the iPhone was launched in 2007. Apple's revenue is expected to decline in the current quarter, which is the first time in 13 years.

The global PC market is in a downturn, with global PC sales in the fourth quarter of 2015 hitting their lowest level since 2007. Yang Yuanqing believes that smartphone users in emerging markets will eventually turn to PCs. He said: "Everyone who owns a smartphone will find that PCs are more powerful and have more complete functions, and they will upgrade to PCs sooner or later."
