Compared with the previously exposed photos, the new car has removed some of its camouflage. According to the latest news, the new X5 is expected to be officially unveiled at the end of 2017.

From the spy photos released this time, the new generation X5 has not changed much in terms of overall vehicle shape, and basically retains the design of the current model, but the body size may be increased to a certain extent compared with the current model. At the same time, the size of the new car's double kidney-style front air intake grille and the central air intake of the front bumper will also be increased. In addition, from the rear, the exhaust pipe at the rear of the car has also been changed to an embedded square design.

It is understood that the new generation BMW X5 will be built on the same CLAR platform as the new 7 Series, with extensive use of aluminum alloy and carbon fiber materials, so the curb weight will be greatly reduced, and it will have better performance in terms of fuel economy.

As for power, BMW has not yet officially announced the power configuration of the new generation X5, but according to foreign media speculation, the new car may be equipped with a 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine and a new V8 engine, and will launch a plug-in hybrid version.
