Wuling Hongguang has become the best-selling car in human history, with one car sold every 5 seconds on average. The reason why it is called the best-selling car is that the sales of Wuling Hongguang series are far beyond the reach of other competitors, with an average monthly sales of 40,000 to 50,000 units. The total sales in 2016 successfully exceeded 650,000 units. It is also very surprising that Baojun 730 can achieve a monthly sales of about 20,000 units at a higher price.

In addition, in the MPV sales rankings in April this year, this car once again surpassed other models without any suspense, and continued to occupy the top two positions with 36,100 and 16,000 units respectively, which once again made other brands look at it with envy. Although these two cars are two brands under SAIC-GM, the competition between them has never diminished, and it has become normal to make comparisons.

First of all, from the exterior and interior, the two cars are very similar in appearance. Wuling Hongguang S looks simple and capable, while Baojun 730 looks more fashionable. From the overall outline, Baojun 730 is a circle larger than Wuling Hongguang S, but the wheelbase is only 30mm longer, and the actual body length is 283mm longer than Wuling Hongguang S.

In terms of interior, Wuling Hongguang is more suitable for commercial use, while Baojun 730, which is positioned as the MVP for home use, naturally emphasizes the concept of family cars. Baojun 730 continues the color matching style of beige and black, with a wood grain panel on the center console, an 8-inch flat screen, and chrome strip decoration, which is more eye-catching and improves the grade.

The materials and assembly process of the interior of Wuling Hongguang S are completely worthy of its price. In terms of safety configuration, Wuling Hongguang S is equipped with ABS+EBD, LED high-mounted brake lights, reversing radar, rear window heating and defrosting function, cruise control, middle door child lock, automatic locking function, headlight/door not closed alarm device, remote control key with electronic anti-theft system and automatic car search function, etc. The central control is also equipped with a large LCD screen with navigation and reversing image functions. Compared with the careful calculation of joint venture brands, Wuling is really generous.

In terms of power system, both cars use the same 1.5T naturally aspirated engine codenamed L2B from GM, with a maximum power of 82 kilowatts and a peak torque of 14 Nm. The front suspension structure of Wuling Hongguang S is McPherson independent suspension, while the rear suspension structure uses a hard leaf spring non-independent suspension.

Wuling Hongguang is rear-wheel drive, with a heavier handling feel and tougher shock absorber tuning, making it feel more manly to drive. Baojun 730 is front-wheel drive, with more power, lighter and smoother handling, making it more suitable for home use.

So this also gives everyone more choices. If it is for commercial use, then Wuling Hongguang will definitely be preferred. If it is for home use, then Baojun 730 is obviously more in line with the public's appetite, but the price difference between the two cars is about 20,000 yuan. What kind of car you want to buy depends not only on power, appearance, interior, etc., but also on your budget.
