Tesla builds more service centers

According to foreign media reports, in order to support the launch of Model 3, Tesla announced that it will build more car service centers and add 350 mobile service vehicles. It is expected that after the launch of Model 3, Tesla's sales will increase by 500%.

In order to cope with the rapid growth in sales and achieve the transformation from a luxury car company to a mainstream car company, Tesla needs to rapidly expand its service level. Tesla executives told Reuters that by improving efficiency and increasing mobile services, Tesla's global service capabilities will increase threefold and 100 service centers will be added to the existing 150 service centers. Tesla has added 1,400 technicians this year and plans to expand mobile and service centers at the same rate in the next few years.

Tesla said the $35,000 Model 3 is easy to produce and therefore requires less service. Tesla Model 3 production began last week and is expected to reach 20,000 units per month by December this year, with the first delivery expected on July 38.

Tesla last reported 373,000 Model 3 reservations in April last year. Tesla said it has learned a lot from previous recalls for seatbelt latches, seats and 53,000 parking systems, and has improved service times by automating paperwork and using the car's wireless connection to diagnose problems.

Tesla plans to deploy mobile service vehicles at charging stations to help repair seat belt latches, which can save at least 20 minutes. 80% of the fault repairs do not use a crane, so a technician can complete the repair task, and it takes at least 1 hour to repair a fault.
