According to Tesla's official statement, the charging interface of the Chinese-standard cars shipped in the future and sold in the Chinese market will be redesigned. The charging port originally hidden in the corner of the left taillight will be cancelled, and a new national standard charging interface will be added to the left rear fender. At the same time, considering that old Tesla owners have purchased models that use non-"new national standard" charging interfaces, Tesla will provide "new national standard" charging adapters to these users in mainland China for free. On the other hand, for the charging infrastructure that matches the new models, Tesla plans to transform the current super charging piles and destination charging network charging piles in the mainland to make them comply with the requirements of the new national standard charging interface. At the Guangzhou Auto Show, which will open on November 17, Tesla's MODEL X and MODEL S models equipped with the new national standard charging interface will be officially unveiled to consumers. In order to seize the huge potential of the Chinese market, Tesla can be said to have carried out the largest "China-specific" product transformation in history.
