The world's only Audi Q8 concept car debuts at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The hybrid system achieves eight-cylinder performance and four-cylinder fuel consumption

Auto shows are always full of big-name stars supporting luxury cars. On November 17, 2017 Guangzhou Auto Show Media Day, Kung Fu superstar Donnie Yen showed up at Audi's stage early in the morning, which was obviously the biggest surprise.

However, what attracted more attention from car fans than Donnie Yen was the Audi Q8 sports concept car, which was said to be the only one in the world and made its debut at this year's auto show.

It is understood that the Audi Q8 sports concept car is built on the same platform as the new Audi Q7, but adopts a more sporty appearance design and interior style, coupled with a revolutionary drive system. It aims to use the Audi brand's most avant-garde quantitative technology concepts to point out the future development trend of the Q series model family.

The Audi Q8 sports concept car continues the iconic "polygonal big mouth" front face design of current Audi models. As a concept car, it is also equipped with uniquely shaped oversized wheels. Aerodynamic components that are in line with the positioning of a sports model can also be seen in many details of the car, including the diffuser design at the bottom of the rear of the car.

In terms of performance parameters, the Audi Q8 sports concept car uses a power configuration that combines a mild hybrid system with a 3.0 TFSI six-cylinder engine, which can bring a maximum output power of 350 kilowatts and a peak torque of 700 Nm. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour is only 4.7 seconds, and the maximum speed can reach 275 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the cruising range can reach 1,200 kilometers.

It is particularly worth mentioning that the hybrid system of the Audi Q8 sports concept car will use a new engine technology code-named KoVoMo, jointly developed by Volkswagen and Porsche, to provide the most ideal fuel economy and power performance. Audi officials said that this hybrid system will enable the Audi Q8 sports concept car to achieve "eight-cylinder performance, four-cylinder fuel consumption" driving performance.
