Dongfeng Peugeot 5008 real shot at Guangzhou Auto Show: Can the poorly selling French cars make a comeback this time?

September should have been the peak season for car purchases, but sales of Dongfeng Peugeot 5008 declined instead of increasing, with a total of 3,306 units sold, a 23% drop from August. Since the model was launched in April, the cumulative sales have been only 15,600 units. The average monthly sales of less than 3,000 units is obviously not a satisfactory answer for Dongfeng Peugeot.

At the 2017 Guangzhou Auto Show, Dongfeng Peugeot brought the 5008 Unlimited Edition, giving this "flagship SUV" under Dongfeng Peugeot a new lease of life, but will this be a turning point for this model in the market? Obviously, it is still unknown.

It is worth noting that at the Dongfeng Peugeot booth at this year's Guangzhou Auto Show, promotional signs such as price reduction information can be seen everywhere on the top of the exhibition cars. Selling more cars is undoubtedly the top priority of the current 5008 model.

However, consumers' awareness of French cars, including Peugeot, is still quite limited. The Dongfeng Peugeot 5008 on the Guangzhou Auto Show booth has a "fake lion" on its hood, and Dongfeng Peugeot's future domestic sales may not be able to become a real lion.
