GAC Trumpchi GM8 debuts at Guangzhou Auto Show: Independent brand model targets Buick GL8

Many people may not have thought that GAC Trumpchi, instead of completely copying the exterior design of foreign brands, has made its products more and more sophisticated among domestic automobile manufacturers.

After the GS6 and GS8 became star products among domestic SUV models, GAC Trumpchi launched the high-end MPV product GM8 at the 2017 Guangzhou Auto Show. Its opponent is naturally Buick GL8 and other products that have a near monopoly in the domestic mid-to-high-end MPV market.

In fact, as early as the 2015 Guangzhou International Auto Show, GAC Trumpchi released the MPV i-Lounge Langzhi concept car. Today's Trumpchi GM8 is derived from the i-Lounge C-class platform. Judging from the on-site exhibition at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the Trumpchi GM8 highlights the luxury and large-size MPV style. Whether it is the exterior design or the interior layout, it does not look inferior to joint venture brands or pure imported products of the same type.

In terms of power, GAC Trumpchi GM8 is equipped with a self-developed 2.0T turbocharged engine, matched with a 6-speed manual transmission, and shares the powertrain with GS8.
