India's driverless subway derailed and crashed into a wall, but netizens still recommend local residents to use motorcycles to travel

Although driverless cars are developing rapidly, most related products are still positioned as private cars that can carry 4 to 5 people. Therefore, for some densely populated countries and regions, it may be more practical to make public transportation driverless.

Not long ago, India made a rather radical announcement that it would vigorously develop driverless subways. However, according to information revealed by relevant officials of the Delhi Metro Corporation of India on the 19th of this month, an driverless subway train with an untested braking system suddenly slid back while cleaning on a ramp, lost control and hit a nearby wall, causing the train to derail and be damaged, casting a shadow on the launch of driverless subways.

Although the local subway operating department later stated that the preliminary cause of the accident was judged to be human error, and no one was injured and it would not affect the official operation time, according to Indian media reports, Indian Prime Minister Modi was originally scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of this new subway line on the 25th of this month. Whether the ceremony will be postponed due to this accident is not yet known.

It is understood that India's driverless subway train just obtained safety approval from the Indian Metro Railway Safety Committee last month. With the help of a high level of automation, it will operate in "unattended mode". At the same time, the new line is expected to shorten the journey time from Noida to South Delhi to two hours.

Regarding the sudden incident in which India's driverless subway derailed and crashed into a wall before carrying any passengers, some domestic netizens believe that with India's current technological strength, it is too early to talk about the implementation of driverless technology. In addition, in various media reports, local Indian motorcycles often show amazing passenger-carrying capabilities. Before the subway is built, it is still recommended that local residents use motorcycles for travel.
