Brilliance is panicking. BMW plans to increase its stake in the joint venture to 75% and transform it into a global production base.

According to German Manager Magazine, BMW's stake in joint ventures in China will be increased to 75%, with Brilliance BMW being the first to be affected. Brilliance BMW's share price fell by nearly 10%.

On July 9, BMW Group and Brilliance Group signed a long-term framework agreement on the long-term development of BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, BMW Brilliance will expand its production capacity to 520,000 vehicles in 2019. In addition, BMW's first pure electric model, BMW iX3, will be localized in 2010.

By increasing its shareholding ratio, the BMW Group will be more willing to increase investment and expand production capacity in China.
