Musk announced plans to build factories on all continents to meet market demand

Recently, Tesla CEO Musk said in an interview that Tesla currently plans to build super factories in every continent around the world to increase the production capacity of Tesla cars and meet the growing market demand.

As early as the beginning of 2019, Tesla began to build a super factory in Shanghai. After a year of construction, Tesla's Shanghai factory was officially put into production in early 2020. According to Tesla, the Shanghai Super Factory will achieve an annual production capacity of 500,000 vehicles in the next three years.

Currently, Tesla's only other factory that can rival the Shanghai Gigafactory is the Fremont Factory in California, with a weekly production capacity of approximately 7,000 vehicles. Although the production capacity of these two factories is already impressive, considering that Tesla is targeting the global market, it is still difficult for just two Gigafactories to meet the demand of hundreds of millions. Therefore, it is not surprising that Tesla is actively promoting the construction of Gigafactories on all continents.
