Recently, GAC Aion announced that its graphene technology will soon enter the mass production stage. It is understood that GAC Aion's graphene-based super-fast charging battery can charge 80% of its power in just 8 minutes, and under the NEDC test, the range can reach 1,000 kilometers.

In this regard, the Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. stated: "GAC's graphene-based super-fast charging battery has now entered the actual vehicle testing stage, and it is tentatively scheduled to be mass-produced in September this year."

In fact, as the electric vehicle market becomes increasingly popular, in order to gain a higher market share, the leading automakers are currently developing new battery technologies. For example, before GAC, NIO also released a 150kWh solid-state battery. Based on this battery, the NEDC range of the NIO ET7 will be more than 1,000 kilometers.

However, it is worth noting that due to the limitations of the underlying technology, most of the current emerging battery technologies are largely "overdrawing the future". CATL previously stated that "solid-state batteries will have to wait until ten years later". Although NIO has greatly advanced this time, it will still take two years.

It is precisely because the development of the industry has its own objective laws that GAC's revolutionary graphene battery technology has been widely controversial since its announcement. Some industry experts said that the graphene in GAC's graphene-based super-fast charging battery is essentially just a conductive agent, not a "graphene battery" in the pure sense. Therefore, the graphene-based super-fast charging battery promoted by GAC, which can be charged in 8 minutes and has a range of 1,000 kilometers, still needs to be tested in the market.
