Europe is the next battlefield for Chinese automakers. Will Ideal Auto establish a production base in Norway?

Recently, some media broke the news that Ideal Auto is considering establishing a production base in Europe as a frontier for its entry into the global market.

Li Auto President Shen Yanan previously said: "We want to be a winner in the global market, not just a participant. To win market share overseas, we must develop suitable products to attract discerning customers and meet their different requirements. We have set up a team focused on overseas markets, and we are carefully formulating plans to find a successful model."

In China, NIO, Li Auto and Xpeng are the three most eye-catching new car-making forces, and all three companies are currently listed on the US stock market. On August 12, Li Auto became the second Chinese car company to be listed on both the Hong Kong and US stock markets after Xpeng Motors.

In terms of developing the European market, both NIO and Xpeng are ahead. In December last year, Xpeng Motors delivered 100 G3 pure electric vehicles in Norway, and in February this year, it brought another 209 G3s to the Norwegian market. In May this year, NIO also released its Norwegian strategy, and its first batch of ES8 electric vehicles was delivered to Norway in July this year.

Currently, Norway is the country with the highest penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the world, and has become the first choice for domestically produced cars to go overseas. Therefore, if an ideal choice is to go overseas, Norway is likely to be their first stop. But Norway is definitely not the end point for cars to go overseas. Some experts said: "The European electric vehicle market has been growing rapidly, and all electric vehicle companies should pay close attention. Only companies with a strong influence in all major electric vehicle markets around the world can be labeled as international giants."

The next battlefield for NIO, Xiaobian and Li Auto may very well be the whole of Europe.
