Recently, the 40 millionth engine officially rolled off the production line at Audi's Hungarian plant. This is an electric motor with a maximum power of 140 kilowatts, which will be installed on the Audi e-tron.

The history of Audi's Hungarian plant in producing engines can be traced back to 1994. After 2018, the plant also followed the trend of the new energy era and began to produce electric motors. Audi's Hungarian plant has now become the world's largest engine manufacturer, producing nearly 2 million engines for the Volkswagen Group every year.

Audi said it will transform into a pure electric vehicle company in the future, and its Hungarian factory will inevitably gradually shift its production focus to electric motors.

In contrast to the transformation of traditional car companies, Chinese manufacturers have already achieved overtaking in the era of new energy vehicles.

In 2019, Tesla's Shanghai factory was launched, promising that 90% of parts would be purchased locally, which greatly promoted the development of the domestic automobile industry chain.

Since then, Chinese companies such as Jingda Holdings, Jinli Permanent Magnet, Zhongke Sanhuan, and Longsheng Technology have successfully achieved the localization of all electric motor parts, reducing costs while improving product quality.

In July this year, Tesla Model Y and Model 3, which were equipped with domestic motors, announced price cuts. At the same time, the torque and power of both models increased by nearly 10%.

In addition, domestic motor companies have also taken off in an all-round way after the arrival of the new energy vehicle trend:

Wuling Hongguang Mini, powered by Founder Motor, became a low-end hit, and Founder Motor subsequently began to supply Xiaopeng P7;

Huawei's three-in-one motor has also been installed in Seres cars, and Jingjin Electric has become one of the top ten suppliers in the world in terms of shipments;

Now, even the traditional home appliance brand Midea has entered the three-electric field of electric vehicles through its Welling Automobile.

It can be said that in the new energy era, China Power has successfully overtaken the old car companies.
