Nissan China: Dongfeng Nissan's cumulative sales from January to July 2022 were 535,280 vehicles

Among Japanese luxury brands, apart from Toyota's Lexus, Honda's Acura and Nissan Infiniti are not doing well in the Chinese market. On August 5, Nissan China released data showing that Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan/Venucia/Infiniti) sold 86,474 vehicles in July 2022, and the cumulative sales from January to July 2022 were 535,280 vehicles. Among them, Infiniti brand sales in July were 459 vehicles, and the cumulative sales from January to July were 4,569 vehicles (the above are terminal sales).

That is to say, up to July this year, Infiniti's sales in China are less than 5,000 units, and the average monthly sales have not exceeded 1,000, not even a fraction of Nissan Sylphy's sales.

In April, GAC Honda and Acura announced on their official websites that GAC Honda will no longer produce and sell existing products of the GAC Acura brand in 2023, which means that GAC Acura will be officially delisted from the market in 2023. This inevitably makes people worry about whether Infiniti will be delisted from China, after all, the sales performance of both is also poor.

However, Infiniti officials have shown their firm determination to expand into China and refuse to withdraw from the country.

At the Dongfeng Nissan 2022 Family Day, Wang Baojun, deputy general manager of the Infiniti Business Headquarters of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., said, "Infiniti will not only continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, but will also go all out with the support of shareholders to consolidate the position of the Infiniti brand in the Chinese luxury car market."

Recently, Infiniti reiterated this position: "Infiniti will always be rooted in China and deeply rooted in China, no matter in the past or in the future."
