National Bureau of Statistics: Energy production in September 2022

Electricity production has declined significantly. In September, electricity generation was 683 billion kWh, down 0.4% year-on-year, compared with a 9.9% increase in the previous month, with an average daily power generation of 22.77 billion kWh. From January to September, electricity generation was 6.3 trillion kWh, up 2.2% year-on-year.

In terms of types, in September, the growth rate of thermal power and wind power slowed down, the decline of hydropower and nuclear power expanded, and the growth rate of solar power generation accelerated. Among them, thermal power increased by 6.1% year-on-year, 8.7 percentage points lower than the previous month; wind power increased by 25.8%, 2.4 percentage points slower than the previous month; hydropower decreased by 30.0%, 19.0 percentage points wider than the previous month; nuclear power decreased by 2.7%, 2.1 percentage points wider than the previous month; solar power generation increased by 18.9%, 8.0 percentage points faster than the previous month.
