A small test of Qualcomm Snapdragon 602A

At an important position in the experience hall of this Qualcomm media workshop, Snapdragon 602A is simulating the entertainment scene in the car. The screen on the left represents the central position of the front driver's cabin, while the one on the right is the headrest screen or other entertainment system for the rear passenger. Whether the front driver listens to music or uses GPS navigation, and whether the rear passenger chooses to watch videos or play games, the two will not interfere with each other, and the audio can be output from their own independent speakers, which takes good care of everyone's user experience. Let's take a look at the public version of Snapdragon 602A provided by Qualcomm. Since the space in the car is much richer than that in the mobile phone, it is indeed much larger than the common single-chip Snapdragon. In the middle of the PCB is the APQ8064 with a 28nm process, a quad-core Krait architecture, and a single-core effective operating frequency of up to 1.5GHz. It is surrounded by a circle of low-voltage DDR3 generation RAM, storage ROM, and video memory particles used by the Adreno 320 graphics chip. In the upper left corner of the motherboard, you can see the standard SD card slot, SIM card slot and HDMI 1.4 video output; on the right, there are USB 2.0 expansion, 3PIN fan interface and some special cable slots; in the lower left of the processor is a special expansion slot. According to the on-site staff, the Snapdragon 602A standard 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-band 802.11ac/n/g/b/a wireless network card is inserted here. In addition, this motherboard also integrates Bluetooth v4.0 module, front and rear camera I/O, Hexagon QDSP6 audio and video processing unit and GPS chip. Of course, through the current naming method of Snapdragon 602A, it is not difficult to see that the protagonist of this article is not Qualcomm's future flagship product in the automotive field, but a touchstone for the mid-range market. From the specifications, it is not difficult to see that the existing Snapdragon 602A only supports 3 camera inputs and 2 screen expansions (without using a split screen). This is far from enough for most luxury cars that have a panoramic visual reversing system with four cameras in the front, back, left and right, and a four-screen in-car entertainment system with an instrument panel + central control + 2 rear headrest screens.
