5.5-inch iPhone delayed due to battery not being thin enough

According to Taiwan's Commercial Times, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 is not unavailable, but has been delayed due to a lack of battery components that meet the requirements.

According to reports, Apple designed the 5.5-inch iPhone to be thinner and lighter, so the battery component thickness must be kept at 2 mm, while the battery components currently developed by parts suppliers are usually 3 mm. As a result, the development process of the 5.5-inch iPhone has been delayed. It may not be officially launched until early 2015.

It is said that if suppliers can produce enough parts, Apple will be able to start selling the 5.5-inch iPhone soon, even though the product may be launched later than the 4.7-inch iPhone, Apple will still release the two products at the same time.

Earlier, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 6 will be equipped with an A8 processor, the border will be 10-20% smaller than now, the thickness will be further reduced to 6.5-7.0 mm (5s 7.6 mm), and there will be two versions, but not released at the same time: the 4.7-inch version will be released in September and the 5.5-inch version will be released in December.
