Qvod server stores more than 3,000 pornographic videos

At the same time, Qvod's behavior of disseminating pornographic information is suspected of constituting a crime. The public security department has filed a case for investigation and detained several suspects. Reporters learned that at the end of 2013, Beijing's public security and copyright departments seized four servers managed by Qvod during law enforcement inspections. Some of the servers alone stored more than 3,000 pornographic videos. In March this year, the relevant departments also found a large number of pornographic videos while monitoring the relevant applications and columns of Qvod. After the special campaign to combat pornographic information online began, the relevant departments conducted in-depth investigations and collected evidence on Qvod and related personnel. The relevant person in charge of the National Office for Combating Pornography and Illegal Publications said that Qvod used the player it developed and the server it managed to provide video playback services, and quickly had a large number of users. However, when providing services, Qvod did not fulfill its responsibility for content security management, disregarded social morality, broke the legal bottom line, and provided platforms and channels for the dissemination of illegal and harmful information such as pornography, seriously endangering the physical and mental health of minors, and had extremely bad effects, so it must be severely punished. The person in charge said that since the launch of the special campaign to combat pornographic and pornographic information online, the National Office for Combating Pornography and Illegal Publications has supervised a number of illegal and criminal cases of producing, selling and disseminating pornographic and pornographic information. So far, 20 typical cases have been announced, and the case of Qvod spreading pornographic and pornographic information is one of them. In these cases, the illegal problems are prominent, the nature is serious, the means are bad, and the impact is extremely bad. It is not enough to punish criminal activities and maintain the dignity of the law without fighting. In the next step, the National Office for Combating Pornography and Illegal Publications will increase the intensity of the crackdown and the investigation of cases, and organize inspections of the implementation of special operations in various places in mid-to-late May, focusing on the investigation and handling of key cases supervised by the National Office for Combating Pornography and Illegal Publications and the verification and handling of clues reported by the masses, further implement tasks, strictly enforce responsibilities, and promote the continuous deepening of special operations.
