The Secrets of Google's Nexus Codenames

Just as Android versions are named after desserts, there's an unwritten rule for naming Google Nexus devices: they're named after fish.

The latest exposed Nexus X (the so-called Nexus 6) is codenamed Shamu (killer whale), so what about the previous ones?

The Galaxy Nexus was codenamed Tuna, the Nexus 4 was codenamed Mako, and last year's Nexus 5 was named Hammerhead.

Not only Nexus phones, but also tablets are named after fish, with Nexus 7 named Tilapia and Nexus 10 named Manta.
