iPhone 6 uses TLC flash memory

Recently, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been embroiled in quality issues because foreign media revealed that many of their 128GB and 64GB versions used TLC NAND flash memory technology.

TLC NAND flash memory is a type of solid-state NAND flash memory. It can store three times more data than SLC memory and 1.5 times more than MLC memory. Most importantly, TLC flash memory is more affordable. However, it reads and writes data a bit slower than SLC or MLC.
