Recently, according to media reports, in 2023, Apple paid TSMC US$17.52 billion (approximately RMB 126.144 billion), accounting for 25% of TSMC's total revenue. Generally speaking, TSMC does not disclose its relationship with its customers, but according to relevant US laws, TSMC must disclose data of customers that account for more than 10% of its revenue. In documents TSMC filed with the SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission), Apple is referred to as "Customer A" and paid TSMC $17.52 billion last year, accounting for 25% of its revenue. Nvidia also became TSMC's second largest customer, referred to as "Customer B" in the documents, paying TSMC US$7.73 billion (approximately RMB 55.656 billion), accounting for 11% of TSMC's revenue. TSMC's top ten customers also include MediaTek, AMD, Qualcomm, Broadcom, Sony and Marvell. The top ten customers accounted for 91% of TSMC's net revenue last year, up from 82% in 2022. As one of TSMC's largest customers, Apple has been the first to launch new processes for many years and has achieved exclusivity for a long time. According to reports, TSMC is expected to mass-produce 2nm chips from 2025. By then, the iPhone 17 Pro will become the first manufacturer to take the lead and will monopolize TSMC's production capacity for the whole year. Zikuai Technology |
