iPhone 6s internal chip revealed: there is still a 16GB version

Previously, the foreign website 9to5Mac got the iPhone 6s prototype and gradually disclosed the relevant information about the metal shell and logic board. Now, 9to5Mac has teamed up with the famous disassembly website ChipWorks to analyze the internal parts of the disassembled iPhone 6s. The final conclusion shows that in addition to the Force Touch pressure touch display, higher-pixel camera and Qualcomm LTE chip, the phone is also equipped with a new NFC chip, fewer chipsets, but the flash memory capacity still starts at 16GB.
New NFC chip
According to the analysis of the internal chips of the iPhone 6s after disassembling it by 9to5Mac and the famous disassembly website ChipWorks, the NFC chip of this new phone is NXP 66VP2, which is different from the NXP 65V10 chip used in the iPhone 6. It is very likely that a security unit processor has been added, thus reducing the need for a separate processor.




At the same time, as the area of ​​the iPhone 6s logic board becomes smaller, the number of chips used in the phone has also become smaller, for example, from 10 components in the past to 3, and necessary chips including flash memory and processors use more sophisticated processes, which allows the iPhone 6s to provide the same or faster performance while consuming less power.
Still has 16GB of memory
Although there have been rumors that the iPhone 6s will cancel the 16GB version and start directly with 32GB capacity, according to the internal chip spy photos exposed by 9to5Mac, the iPhone 6s still starts with 16GB storage capacity, and the flash memory chip is provided by Toshiba, using the 19nm manufacturing process.

However, 9to5Mac also said that the 16GB capacity version may be limited to testing, but it is possible that a larger capacity will be provided in the official version. In addition, since Apple executives said that iCloud cloud services can help people store documents, photos, videos and music, the 16GB capacity version can still meet the needs of most users.




No change in appearance
In addition, iPhone 6s still retains audio chips from Cirrus Logic, Wi-Fi modules from Murata, and infinite power amplifiers from RFMD, Triquint, Avago, and Skyworks. At the same time, 9to5Mac also speculated based on the design sketches provided by the protective case manufacturers and its own iPhone 6s prototype shell that iPhone 6s should be compatible with most existing iPhone 6 accessories.
Since Apple allows a 0.2mm error between each iPhone, and the current iPhone 6s is only about 0.13mm larger than the iPhone 6, these differences are almost impossible to tell with the naked eye. If we look at the data of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s, the length of the phone is 0.16mm larger than the iPhone 6, and the width is 0.13mm larger, both of which are within the range allowed by Apple, so it can be considered that there is no significant change in the external dimensions.
