China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Brief analysis of commercial vehicle production and sales in June 2024

In June 2024, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 330,000 and 337,000 respectively. The production increased by 2.8% and the sales decreased by 1.2% month-on-month, and decreased by 3.5% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively.

From January to June 2024, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 2.005 million and 2.068 million respectively, up 2% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively.

In June 2024, the production and sales of trucks were 290,000 and 294,000 respectively, with a month-on-month increase of 4% in production and a month-on-month decrease of 1.6% in sales, and a year-on-year decrease of 3% and 5.1% respectively. Compared with the previous month, the production and sales of medium-duty trucks and light-duty trucks increased to varying degrees, the production of heavy-duty trucks increased and sales decreased, and the production and sales of mini trucks both decreased; compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of medium-duty trucks and light-duty trucks increased to varying degrees, and the production and sales of heavy-duty trucks and mini trucks decreased to varying degrees.

From January to June 2024, the production and sales of trucks reached 1.764 million and 1.824 million respectively, up 1.4% and 4.4% year-on-year respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the production of mini trucks decreased slightly and the sales increased slightly. The production and sales of the other three categories of trucks increased to varying degrees, among which the growth rate of medium-sized trucks was the most significant.
