Microsoft releases Xbox One S game console: starting price is $299

The new Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the current product, supports 4K video playback and 4K Blu-ray discs, and the matching handle is also optimized in terms of material and wireless distance. This console is equipped with a maximum hard drive of 2TB, which is twice the capacity of the current Xbox One, and supports HDR technology, which brings richer colors and purer black in videos and games.

According to The Verge, the new console also removes a feature from the previous Xbox One: there is no longer a dedicated port for the Kinect motion controller. Currently, the new console has a built-in infrared blaster to help you control your home entertainment center, and if you want to connect a Kinect, you can use an optional USB adapter. Microsoft stopped bundling Kinect in Xbox since 2014.

Cortana voice assistant will be available on Xbox this summer. In the future, users can use Cortana through head-mounted devices instead of using Kinect.

In addition, The Verge reported that $299 is only the starting price for the 500GB version, the 1TB version is priced at $350, and the 2TB version is priced at $399. The most expensive version will be shipped first.
