Tesla: Tesla's annual sales in 2024 will be 1.79 million vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%

Tesla recently released its full-year delivery data for 2024: full-year sales were 1.79 million vehicles, down 1.1% from 1.81 million vehicles in 2023. This is the first time Tesla's annual sales have declined year-on-year since 2015.

According to data compiled by Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association, Tesla's global new energy vehicle market share in the fourth quarter of 2024 has fallen to third place, surpassed by China's Geely Group.

In 2021, Tesla ranked first among global new energy vehicle companies with a share of 16.5%, but in just three years, its share has been halved to 8.1%.

In contrast, BYD's performance is very impressive. In 2021, BYD's market share was 9.5%, and by the fourth quarter of 2024, this figure had soared to 28.2%, an increase of more than two times!

Geely Group has also steadily improved, doubling its share from 4.4% in 2021 to 8.8% in 2024.

It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi Motors has just been released in 2024 and has quickly climbed to 21st place in the world. Xiaomi Motors aims to deliver 300,000 vehicles in 2025, and is expected to be among the top 15 in the world by then!
