Google Pixel 5 major regrets

On October 4, Google officially brought us the new native system flagship Pixel and Pixel XL. Unlike the previous Nexus series, Google is personally responsible for the design and development of the Pixel series hardware, which is eye-catching. Regret 1: Low screen-to-body ratio Android phones have been pursuing extremely narrow borders and higher screen-to-body ratio in recent years. Compared with iPhone, this is a considerable advantage. But this year's Pixel did not continue this trend. The border is not thick, but not narrow either, and it is quite satisfactory. The empty chin looks a bit monotonous. Regret 2: Absence of optical image stabilization Optical image stabilization technology has been more common in various flagship phones in the past two or three years, such as iPhone 6s/7 Plus, Samsung S7 series, domestic Huawei P9, OnePlus 3, etc. Optical image stabilization is also more effective in improving camera capabilities, which can effectively increase the output rate and improve night imaging effects. At the press conference, Google praised Pixel for its very powerful imaging capabilities, and it received the highest score of 89 points on the DXOMark website. Pixel has a good hardware foundation, with a photosensitive element as high as 1.55μm. I believe that night imaging can obtain better light intake, but due to the absence of optical image stabilization, the output rate may be greatly reduced, and it may be slightly insufficient compared with products of the same level. Regret 3: Absence of wireless charging Although wireless charging is still a bit useless, it is indeed more convenient to use fragmented time to charge. Although the iPhone does not even have fast charging, many Android flagships are already equipped with wireless charging, which is a bit regrettable for Pixel. Regret 4: Absence of stereo speakers Although this year's son is manufactured by HTC, it is only a foundry. HTC has not participated in the hardware design and development of Pixel at all, so we can't see some unique features of HTC phones on Pixel, such as dual speaker design. Regret 5: No waterproof function This year's iPhone 7 series uses a waterproof function, which is a little surprising. Originally, this function was just a very unique selling point on Sony phones. Later, Samsung also followed up, which shows that this function is very popular. As an Android benchmark, we are still very willing to see Pixel have this feature. Having said so much, it does not mean that Pixel is not a good phone. Google has the confidence to undercut the iPhone 7 series in terms of price.
