Why Android apps start slowly? Xiaomi engineers blame Taobao

There have always been comments about the poor and unsmooth experience of the Android system, especially the application startup speed is significantly slower than that of iOS. In this regard, former Smartisan CTO Qian Chen @工头Jeff asked on Weibo today, what is the root cause of the slow app launch (stuttering)? This question has triggered discussions among many people in the industry. Among them, @Mkey_小米, who develops Xiaomi MIUI, said that there are many reasons for stuttering, including insufficient CPU when the application is launched; insufficient memory, and even having to kill the background to start the current one, and if that doesn’t work, it will go through the slower recycling process; another part of the reason is that the application is poorly written, such as Taobao, which starts with fifty or sixty threads, as hungry as a cafeteria. Meizu developer @高爷 also responded immediately, saying that this phenomenon is 90% the developer’s fault, and most of the applications built into Meizu’s ROM are required to open in seconds when they leave the factory. Samsung employee @戈蓝V also said that users generally think it is a problem with the phone, also implying that most of it is the developer’s responsibility.
