Alibaba Cloud: PolarDB database will set new TPC-C global double chart records with 2.055 billion tpmC performance in 2025

During the 8-hour test, PolarDB completed 2.2 trillion data operations, with a tpmC fluctuation rate of only 0.16%, ensuring 100% data correctness, which also reflects the performance stability of the PolarDB Limitless super-large cluster.

This new record simulated 1.6 billion users conducting transactions online at the same time. Its processing capacity is equivalent to 59 times the peak order scenario of Tmall Double 11 in 2020, successfully carrying the world's largest traffic peak.

Li Feifei, vice president of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group and head of the database product division, said at the 2025 Alibaba Cloud PolarDB Developer Conference: "PolarDB's topping the TPC-C ranking is not only a testament to Alibaba Cloud's own technical strength, but also shows that domestic databases have reached the world's leading level in terms of performance and cost-effectiveness."

It is understood that TPC-C is a benchmark test developed by the TPC organization to measure the performance of online transaction processing (OLTP) systems. It is known as the "Olympics" in the database field. It is the most credible testing standard in the world and one of the hard thresholds for commercial databases to prove their strength.

This benchmark will examine the full-link capabilities of the relational database system, including two major measurement criteria: performance (tpmC) and price/performance (price/tpmC).

The TPC-C test consists of a series of rigorous benchmark test models. It is a 40-hour database performance "extreme challenge" competition. The test process includes full stress testing, fault recovery testing, and database ACI testing.
