Comparison and revelation: Which is better, air purifier or fresh air system?

The haze in winter is severe. In addition to seeking help from air purifiers, the fresh air system has also received widespread attention recently. Zhengzhou City stated that it will pilot the fresh air system in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the city from February 3. So what is the difference between air purifiers and fresh air systems, and which one is better? Zhang Xiao, director of the Sterilization and Purification Laboratory of the China Household Electrical Appliance Research Institute, gave the answer in an interview with Beijing Science and Technology Daily. He said that the fresh air system filters the outside air once and directly sends the air into the room. It is usually used on haze days. Since the air source itself is dirty, the requirements for the filter are also higher-if the filter has poor filtering effect, the air sent into the room is dirty air. In contrast, air purifiers are used in relatively closed spaces. The air is filtered repeatedly until it is clean. The filter may not have a good "one-time purification" effect, but after repeated accumulation, a better purification effect can be achieved. Therefore, the requirements for the filter of the purifier are lower than those of the fresh air system. However, the closed environment required for the operation of the air purifier is prone to indoor hypoxia and excessive carbon dioxide. Therefore, if you need to use an air purifier for a long time in a crowded or small room, it is recommended to open the windows for ventilation regularly. In comparison, the fresh air system can complete ventilation while removing haze. However, using the fresh air system in winter will introduce cold air from the outside and lower the temperature of the room, so an additional heat exchange system is required to maintain the room temperature. In short, both have their own advantages in removing haze. The future trend should be the comprehensive use of fresh air and purifiers.
