Sony officially announced at the beginning of this month that it had successfully developed a new three-layer stacked sensor that can achieve continuous shooting and slow-motion capture far beyond the past. Unexpectedly, this newly released sensor was soon put into use and officially installed in the new flagship phone XZ Premium just released at the MWC conference. Now, Japanese media has brought Sony's official disassembly of the XZ Premium. After some exploration, it was found that this phone equipped with a Snapdragon 835 processor is still not equipped with heat pipe cooling, but uses traditional graphite thermal conductive materials to use the back shell to dissipate heat. The actual heat dissipation capacity remains to be seen. At the same time, the legendary three-layer stacked rear camera sensor has also officially revealed its true identity. Although it looks no different from an ordinary sensor, it is a different world inside. It is reported that Sony's three-layer stacked sensor is based on the improvement of the traditional CMOS sensor, and a layer of DRAM is added between the pixel layer and the signal processing circuit layer. This allows the sensor to obtain high-speed reading capabilities, so that it can be more relaxed when shooting fast-moving objects, and effectively reduce the focal plane distortion caused by shooting. In terms of specific performance, this three-layer stacked DRAM CMOS sensor can continuously read 120 1.93 million pixel still images (4 times higher than before), or shoot 1080p video at a frame rate of 1000fps (8 times higher than ordinary sensors), achieving true super slow motion playback .
