Samsung S8+ battery life test: completely beaten by iPhone 7 Plus

Nowadays, battery life has become the biggest pain point for high-end smartphones. How will the recently released Samsung new flagships S8 and S8+ perform?

Foreign media PhoneArena conducted a test under standard test conditions, and the results showed that the Samsung S8+ (3500mAh) performed better than the iPhone 7, but not as well as the iPhone 7 Plus (2900mAh). From this, we can infer that the S8 with a built-in 3000mAh battery capacity will not be very good either.

Compared with the previous generation Galaxy S7 edge, the battery life of S8+ has been increased by nearly 1 hour, and is also significantly better than flagship phones such as Google Pixel XL, OnePlus 3T, and Huawei P10.

The oversized screen and high resolution are one of the important factors affecting the battery life of S8+.

In terms of charging speed, the S8+ took 99 minutes to fully charge from zero (9V/1.67A, 15W), which is the same as the S7 edge. The worst performance is the iPhone 7 Plus, which took 197 minutes, more than twice as long as other phones. Apple really needs to upgrade its fast charging.
