Google, BlackBerry team up to make Android devices more secure

BlackBerry has announced a partnership with Google to bring BlackBerry's own security expertise to the Android platform. According to Reuters, BlackBerry will help Google manage Android work devices, aiming to securely separate corporate and personal data and applications on Android devices, an effort similar to Samsung's own KNOX security mechanism.

The alliance between Google and BlackBerry is to expand the "highly secure mobile solution" to other Android smart device manufacturers. Android is still a popular mobile platform for consumers, but Google is actively expanding it to the business and enterprise fields as its competitors iPhone and Windows Phone have entered the corporate work field.
