Apple recently released OS X 10.10.5 beta to developers, and today, Apple released OS X 10.10.5 public beta to users who have participated in Apple's public beta program. Considering that the official version of OS X 10.11 El Capitan will be released in a few months, OS X 10.10.5 may be the last update of Yosemite.

If you have joined the Apple Beta Software Program, you can download the latest version through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store. Its build number is the same as the beta version released to developers earlier this week, 14F6a.

An issue that prevented some developers from seeing the latest beta of OS X 10.10.5 released on Tuesday appears to have been fixed in Software Update.

OS X 10.10.5 improves system stability, compatibility, and security.

The current version of OS X Yosemite is OS X 10.10.4. This version was released on June 30th and brought some bug fixes and underlying performance improvements, while also removing the problematic Discoveryd process.
