Microsoft releases Android desktop app

Microsoft releases Android desktop app

On October 29, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft seems to be a bit distracted in the mobile phone field. It has left its own Windows Phone aside and released a number of free Android applications. On Wednesday, the free Android desktop application Arrow officially landed on the Google Play Store.

Microsoft seems to have high hopes for this app. In the description of the app, Microsoft said, "Arrow can greatly simplify the Android experience." Among the three major smartphone platforms, only Android allows the user to change the desktop.

The design of Arrow Desktop is quite unique. In Arrow Desktop, the system icons have been redesigned. Arrow Desktop only provides one screen for various application icons. The most recently used applications will be displayed in the top row of the second screen, and the 12 commonly used icons will be displayed in the main position of the second screen. In addition, Arrow Desktop provides a control center menu that can be pulled up on any screen. The other two screens of Arrow Desktop are for contacts and notes respectively. I don't know if it has something to do with Chinese users, but Google Now does not appear on the home screen, nor does Google Search.

Microsoft may be developing more Android apps in the future. Microsoft recently acquired Double Labs, the company behind the Android Echo notification lock screen app. Earlier today, Microsoft said it would use Sunrise technology to optimize the calendar function of Outlook on Android. Meanwhile, Microsoft has also been working with Cyanogen, a company that makes mobile devices based on the Android operating system.
