Android 7.0 ranks first in market share: Have you upgraded?

A few days ago, Google released the latest statistics on the market share of each Android version.

Among them, there are two sets of data that deserve attention:

[[219670]]

First, the combined share of Android Nougat, or Android 7.0/7.1, finally became the largest, reaching 28.5%, exceeding the 6.0 system by 0.4 percentage points. A simple calculation shows that it has been almost two years since the release of Android 7.0.

Second, the share of Android Oero, or Android 8.0/8.1, has exceeded the 1% mark, reaching 1.1%.

However, looking at the entire Android market, 5.0 and even 4.4 systems still have a considerable share, which shows that there is still a long way to go to solve the Android fragmentation problem.

Especially for the Android 8.0 system, currently only Huawei, Sony, and OnePlus have completed the system update and upgrade, while the world's largest manufacturer Samsung, as well as domestic market share giants OV and Xiaomi, are still not fast enough, which also leads to their overall data not being able to improve.

It is reported that Google will release the latest Android 9.0 developer preview on March 14, and will officially announce and launch DP2 (Developer Preview Second Edition) at the I/O conference in May.

Perhaps considering that few manufacturers can keep up with such a pace, it is said that Google has made solving version dispersion and ensuring update speed its top priorities in the 9.0 era, hoping that the situation can be further improved.
