The first version of 5G international standards will be completed in June: China takes the lead

The promotion of 5G is in full swing, but don’t forget that the 5G standards have not yet been finalized, and participating in the formulation of 5G standards has become one of the main battlefields for competition among all parties.

According to Liu Duo, director of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the first version of the 5G international standard will be completed in June this year. At the same time, the third phase of China's 5G research and development trials will be completed before the end of this year, with a focus on system verification.

At the same time, my country has launched a 5G application solicitation competition to collect 5G distinctive innovative applications from the whole society.

In the 3G era, my country was a follower, in the 4G era, my country was running side by side, and in the upcoming 5G era, my country will take the lead.

Liu Duo said that China was the first country in the world to launch 5G trials and built the world's largest 5G trial network in Huairou, Beijing, accelerating cooperation in the industrial chain and the maturity of technology.

At present, China's submissions of 5G international standard documents account for 32% of the world's total, and China leads 40% of standardization projects. Both the speed of advancement and the quality are relatively high in the world.

He pointed out that 2018 is a critical year for 5G standard determination and product development, and my country will focus on the simultaneous development of "standards, R&D and testing".
