According to foreign media reports, Google is developing the next-generation operating system Android Q. However, the company is also developing an operating system that will replace Android sometime this year. This new operating system is called Fuchsia and can run on smartphones, tablets, laptops and other smart devices.

Recently, we learned that Huawei has also started testing the Fuchsia operating system. This shows that the development momentum of this new operating system is good. It is also reported that recently, at a special event held by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), Google also specially demonstrated Fuchsia. This shows that Google is serious about this new operating system.

SIG is the organization responsible for supervising Bluetooth certification and holds three UPF events each year, each held in a different location. At these events, engineers from different companies have the opportunity to meet, communicate and test their devices. At the UPF event held in Berlin, Germany at the end of October this year, Google brought the Fuchsia operating system and let everyone test the connectivity between Fuchsia and Android.

A Fuchsia engineer confirmed on microblogging site Twitter that the team hopes to test Fuchsia during these activities.

It’s not clear what devices Google will be running Fuchsia on and testing Bluetooth connectivity, but in the past we’ve seen the OS boot up on different devices, such as the Pixelbook laptop and the Home Hub smart home control center.
