On May 22, Huawei's consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong revealed that Huawei's self-developed operating system will be launched as early as this fall and at the latest next spring. According to Digitimes, Huawei's self-developed operating system is internally called "Project Z". The report said that Huawei has been developing Project Z for several years. The report pointed out that the focus of Project Z is the Chinese mainland market, and Huawei hopes that mobile phones, cars, wearable devices and smart home appliances can be equipped with this operating system. In addition, the report also said that Huawei's Project Z development process encountered many obstacles and it will take some time to be ready. When it is completed, Huawei still needs third-party developers to develop apps for it, which is relatively easy in mainland China, but has certain difficulties in overseas markets. Yu Chengdong revealed that Huawei's independent operating system has opened up various fields such as mobile phones, computers, tablets, TVs, cars, smart wearables, etc., and will also be compatible with Android applications and all Web applications. Yu Chengdong said, "We are willing to continue to use Google and Microsoft, but we have no choice but to do so!"
