Recently, the Tencent WeChat team reminded everyone that using WeChat plug-in software is a clear violation of regulations.

It is understood that this type of plug-in developed using WeChat group control technology is usually packaged as a "micro-marketing" artifact, which specifically implements functions such as batch adding of friends, automatic batch posting to Moments, one-click likes, and one-click comments through virtual positioning, batch greetings, etc.

WeChat emphasized that this plug-in software not only destroys the ecological balance and normal operation of the WeChat platform, but also provides convenient conditions for malicious marketing activities, causing harassment to normal users. Moreover, since virtual positioning requires the use of WeChat account information, it also brings multiple risks such as privacy and property safety.

WeChat said that since the beginning of this year, we have been strengthening the crackdown and focusing on governance against WeChat plug-in software, and have also recently carried out special cleanup. As of the first half of 2019, a total of millions of accounts that clearly used plug-ins have been subject to short-term or permanent restrictions.
