Recently, the WeChat team discovered that their method has been upgraded from "rental payment code" to "rental group QR code".

To put it simply, in the previous "lending payment codes" path, gambling websites laundered the stolen money recharged by gambling users in batches through the private accounts of WeChat users who "rented payment codes" on the intermediary platform.

Now, the way WeChat users participate has changed from renting out payment codes to intermediary platforms to renting out group QR codes. Users who lend out group QR codes are tempted by the benefits of "earning commissions from part-time online work" and create a group as required, then upload the group QR code to the intermediary platform and pay a deposit.

Then, the black market participants enter the group through the rented group QR code and send a group red envelope of a specified amount. Finally, the user who lent the group QR code receives the group red envelope and withdraws the stolen money to complete the task and earn a commission.

WeChat reminder: For those users who hold the naive idea that "I'm just renting out a QR code, and part-time work is not illegal", whether you are renting out a payment code or a group QR code, you are already violating the law, and there are also major risks such as deposit fraud and information leakage.

As of now, WeChat has dealt with more than 2,000 related illegal accounts.
