Samsung officially announced that it will provide Android 3 major version updates for some devices

One of the big problems with Samsung's Android devices is that the company offers relatively limited OS upgrades. The current smartphone and tablet product lines can only receive two major version and security updates. The good news is that during the Unpacked 2020 conference earlier this month, Samsung has confirmed that the new policy will provide three major version updates of Android. According to the latest published list, only a few devices can get three years of Android update support.

Galaxy S series:

• Galaxy S20 Ultra (including 5G models), S20+ (including 5G models), S20 (including 5G models), S10+, S10, S10e, S10 Lite, and the upcoming new S series models.

Galaxy Note Series:

• Galaxy Note20 Ultra (including 5G models), Note20 (including 5G models), Note10+ (including 5G models), Note10 (including 5G models), Note10 Lite, and the upcoming new Note series phones.

Galaxy Foldable Series:

• Galaxy Z Fold 2 (including 5G models), Z Flip (including 5G models), Fold (including 5G models), and the upcoming new Z series products.

Galaxy A Series:

• Galaxy A71 (including 5G models), A51 (including 5G models), A90 5G, and the upcoming new A series phones.

Galaxy Tab Series:

• Galaxy Tab S7+ (including 5G models), Tab S7 (including 5G / 3rd generation models), Tab S6 (including 5G / 4th generation models), Tab S6 Lite, and the upcoming new Tab S series phones.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy Note 9 does not appear in the list, which means it will no longer receive the official Android major version update promise.
