WeChat 8.0 To add friends, you must set friend permissions

IT Home reported on January 22 that WeChat had a major version update yesterday, version 8.0. The iOS system has been updated first, and the Android system has also ushered in the internal beta version. According to Sina Technology, the new version of WeChat requires you to actively set the other party's permissions when adding friends. The permissions are divided into two categories: conversation only and Moments . If you do not set permissions, you cannot complete the step of adding friends.

Previously, WeChat's friend permissions were set proactively. After adding a friend, you could choose to set permissions on your own, allowing the friend to only chat or to view their own Moments. The former only supported two-way chats, and the friend could not browse their Moments; the latter allowed both chats and browsing Moments. After WeChat was upgraded, permission settings became passive choices. If you do not select friend permissions, you cannot complete the steps of adding friends.

It is reported that this may mean that WeChat will further relax the limit on the number of friends of 5,000, allowing users to still add friends after their friends reach 5,000.
