Your Phone app on Windows is coming to more Android smartphones

After giving up on building its own Windows 10 Mobile mobile platform, Microsoft turned its focus to better integrating Windows with Android/iOS. However, not all mobile phones/mobile platforms can get the same treatment. For example, in order to achieve deeper integration, Samsung, the manufacturer of the Galaxy series of mobile devices, signed a cooperation agreement with Microsoft.

As of now, we can only allow specific models of Samsung smartphones to "drop" Android application windows to run on the desktop in the Windows 10 operating system.

Foreign media pointed out that in addition to the poor choice of software naming, the functional design of the Your Phone application in the Windows operating system also confuses many people.

The good news is that, according to a tweet from Aggiornamenti Lumia, Your Phone will soon be expanded to support more smartphones (or at least a few new mobile devices from Samsung Electronics).

It is reported that one of the basic functions provided by Your Phone is the "Link to Windows" option that allows seamless file transfer between Android smartphones and Windows PCs.

In addition, "Phone Screen" can mirror the entire mobile phone screen to the desktop, so that users can still interact with specific apps conveniently when they are away from the phone.

Soon, users can also expect to enjoy some enhanced user experience when paired with recently released flagship devices, such as the ability to run multiple apps at once.

The screenshot above shows that the Your Phone app will support access to the application list on the Galaxy A52 smartphone and can be launched on demand at any time.

As for when Microsoft plans to expand the above experience to more Android smartphones beyond Samsung, it is not yet known.
