iOS/iPad OS 14.8.1 released: Apple recommends upgrading all older iPhone models

Not long after the official release of iOS 15.1, Apple has now released an update to iOS 14, model 14.8.1 (including iPad OS). The version number is 18H107.

Obviously, Apple suddenly released the iOS 14 update at this time for old users who are unable to upgrade to iOS 15.

Furthermore, Apple's release notes for the update simply say that it "provides important security updates and is recommended for all users."

For iPhone and iPad users who are able to upgrade, you can do so by going into the Settings app, selecting General, and then Software Update.

In the official version of iOS 15.1 released yesterday, the update added a setting to turn off automatic lens switching when shooting macro photos and videos on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max can be used to shoot ProRes videos.
