After actual testing, after the Douyin link is copied to WeChat, it can be opened directly in WeChat without copying the link to the browser.

However, after testing, it was found that e-commerce external links cannot be opened for the time being, whether in point-to-point chat scenarios or group chat scenarios. In response to this, WeChat officials stated that it would take some time to fully cover the functions, and that it would be fully covered today and tomorrow.

According to the "WeChat External Link Content Management Specifications", there are three main adjustments at this stage: External links will be directly accessible in point-to-point chat scenarios; under the guidance of regulatory authorities, in order to implement the bottom line principle of security while taking into account user experience, the direct access function of e-commerce external links will be opened in group chat scenarios on a trial basis; subsequent plans are to develop an independent selection mode to provide users with external link management functions.

WeChat officials said that it will continue to promote interoperability plans with major Internet platforms under the guidance of regulatory authorities, actively cooperate with other Internet platforms to implement interoperability, explore the technical possibilities of smoothly using WeChat services on other platforms, and provide users with a better experience.
