WeChat Pay "Nine-square Grid" fully supports the opening of China UnionPay QuickPass

On December 31, it was reported that in order to effectively promote interconnection and interoperability in the payment field and provide users with more open and convenient payment services, starting from December 15, Tencent WeChat Pay's "Nine-square Grid" merchant mini-program scenarios were gradually upgraded to fully support the opening of Cloud QuickPass: users can go to the "Nine-square Grid" page through "WeChat-Personal-Payment" and choose to use Cloud QuickPass to pay for the WeChat merchant mini-programs that have been opened in scenarios such as life services, transportation, shopping, and consumption.

Prior to this, Tencent WeChat Pay has initially completed the ability to support Cloud QuickPass in various transaction scenarios such as offline barcodes, mini-programs, and apps. The two parties have achieved a number of results in deepening cooperation and interconnection:

WeChat Pay has begun to gradually upgrade merchant mini programs to support Cloud QuickPass payment function. WeChat merchant mini programs have fully opened Cloud QuickPass;

• WeChat Pay and UnionPay QuickPass App realize mutual recognition and scanning of all offline barcodes. Users can directly scan various payment QR codes of WeChat Pay through the QuickPass App and complete payment;
• QQ Reading App also fully supports Cloud QuickPass, becoming the fourth Tencent App to enable interconnection after Tencent Video, WeChat Reading, and Tencent Comics. When users recharge or pay in the App, they can choose WeChat Pay or Cloud QuickPass as the payment method.
• The Cloud QuickPass App fully supports recharge services for Q coins, QQ music and Tencent video.

In addition, the number of partners for WeChat Pay to carry out interconnection and interoperability with banking institutions has increased to 19, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Postal Savings Bank of China, Ping An Bank, Minsheng Bank, China CITIC Bank, Everbright Bank, China Guangfa Bank, China Merchants Bank, Fujian Rural Credit Cooperatives, Bank of Xi'an, Bank of Hangzhou, Bank of Ningbo, Bank of Jiangsu, and Sichuan Tianfu Bank. Users can scan the WeChat QR code to pay through the Cloud QuickPass App and the bank apps that have carried out interconnection and interoperability cooperation.

Tencent WeChat Pay said that it will promote interconnection and interoperability "with security as the bottom line, in stages and steps". Next, WeChat Pay will also work with more industry partners to actively explore more user convenient payment scenarios, adhere to safe interoperability, effectively achieve effective interoperability, and promote the solid and steady progress of interconnection and interoperability.
