Electron-based Windows version of NT QQ released Beta 15, adding background transparency switch

On June 30, the Electron-based Tencent NT QQ Windows 9.8.5 beta version Beta 15 was released. This Beta version still uses the whitelist mechanism, and users who have not signed up for the Windows QQ test plan cannot log in.

  • 64-bit: https://dldir1.qq.com/qqfile/qq/QQNT/c413e6c5/QQ9.8.5.14480_x64.exe.

IT Home found that the new version of QQ Beta 15 does not provide a 32-bit version. According to the official introduction of QQ, this version mainly fine-tunes the interface, in addition to some small optimizations of visual effects, including:

  • Added a new transparency effect switch for Windows 11, which adds a Gaussian blur effect to the application background.
  • Added a reminder switch when hotkeys conflict with other software.
  • The QQ Game function has been added to the application bar.
  • Optimize the bubbles displayed when sending your own messages in dark mode from light black to blue.

Tencent QQ has previously upgraded its macOS and Linux versions, using the QQ NT architecture. It is currently developed based on Electron, which has higher performance requirements but reduces development costs.

The new Windows version is driven by the new QQ NT technology architecture, supports messages, small world, QQ space and other functions, and also adds night mode, screenshot capabilities, group applications, and global search capabilities. The UI is more similar to the previous macOS version of QQ.
