Can wool coats be washed in a washing machine? How to wash them correctly?

When winter comes, I become lazy and just want to wash all the clothes I have worn in one go in the washing machine. So can wool coats be washed in a washing machine? How to wash wool coats correctly? Let's take a look.

Can wool coats be washed in a washing machine?

Can't. Wool coats cannot be washed in a washing machine as they are prone to deformation, hair loss and damage. Hand wash recommended.

How to clean a wool coat

1. It can be washed by hand, but cannot be tumble-dried or exposed to the sun.

2. After washing, wring out the water with your hands, put it on a dry cloth (a dry sheet will also work), spread it out without folding it, and leave it on the dry cloth for 2 to 3 days.

3. Hang the wool coat that is 60% dry on the clothes rack, use two or three poles to dry it horizontally, so that it will not be easily deformed, and wait for it to dry.

4. It is recommended to take it to the laundry for washing.

What to do if your wool coat is wrinkled after washing

1. Hanging method

Ironing is a better way if you don't master the ironing technique. Just use lanolin to soften the leather and hang it for a few days. Using lanolin to soften the leather will accelerate the automatic relaxation of wrinkles and will also achieve the desired effect. But your leather has lost its elasticity due to aging, so please don't iron it easily.

2. Ironing method

Temperature control is the key to ironing leather clothes. If the temperature is not enough, it will not work. If the temperature is too high, it will easily damage the leather surface. In severe cases, it can damage the leather or even completely destroy it. However, leather ironing technology is not an advanced technology. You just need to master the temperature, pressure and time.

What to do if your wool coat sheds

1. You can use transparent tape, and it should be the kind with wide width and good stickiness. After lightly sticking it on, the sweater will not shed lint easily again, and even if it does, it will only be a little bit.

2. You can dissolve a tablespoon of starch in half a basin of cold water. Soak the wool sweater in the starch solution, take it out without wringing it, drain the water and put it in water with a small amount of detergent. Soak it for 5 minutes, rinse it, and then put it in a net bag and hang it up to drain. The wool sweater will no longer shed.

3. First soak the clothes with cold water, then mix laundry detergent or professional wool sweater detergent with water at about 30 degrees Celsius, mix the two, soak for about 10 minutes, gently rub the dirtier places for more time, rinse clean, wring dry, and dry on a hanger with good load-bearing capacity, do not expose to the sun. After drying, iron it flat, preferably using a hanging iron.
