On August 5, the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation conducted random inspections on masks sold on the market and found quality problems in 16 batches of masks, including a batch of Honeywell products. In response, Honeywell told Observer.com on August 6 that the product in question was an old mask, the unqualified item was the "logo", and it is no longer in production.
Honeywell said that the mask involved was a KN95 mask. In the random inspection conducted by the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Labor Protection Products (Beijing) on ​​October 9, 2019, it passed the inspection in key product quality indicators such as filtration efficiency (KN95), leakage, and breathing resistance.
"Unfortunately, we did not indicate the recommended storage conditions (including at least temperature and humidity) on the label of this mask. This is an old mask that is no longer in production and was not sold before the end of 2019."
Honeywell pointed out that in accordance with relevant regulations, the masks it currently produces and sells are clearly marked with the recommended storage temperature of minus 20 degrees to 38 degrees Celsius and the storage humidity is less than 80%. "Honeywell always attaches great importance to product quality and welcomes supervision from all sectors of society at any time."
